Fig and Pistachio Chocolate Bark Recipe

Chocolate heaven!


Happy almost Easter to all!

Are you looking for something a little more interesting than the usual chocolate eggs?

Maybe something healthy as well?

Well look no further.

I recently made a pistachio and fig dark chocolate bark for my Dad as a part of his 50th birthday present and it was a hit!

It took absolutely no time to make and there was barely any washing up afterwards. So if you’re looking at getting creative this Easter and making something amazing for someone, check out the recipe below!




½ virgin organic coconut oil

½ cup raw cacao powder

1 tbsp hulled tahini

3-4 tbsp maple syrup, rice malt syrup, raw honey or coconut sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

pinch of Celtic sea salt

1/3 cup pistachio kernels, roughly chopped

1/3 cup dried figs, cut into small chunks




Line baking tray with baking paper

Melt coconut oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in cacao powder, tahini and sweetener of choice, whisking constantly to stop any lumps forming.

Stir in the cinnamon and salt, then remove from heat

Set pan aside for about 5 minutes to cool slightly

Pour mixture onto baking tray, making sure the thickness is about 5-8mm thick

Scatter pistachios and figs over chocolate

Cover with plastic film and put in freezer to set! (30-40 minutes)

Break off as you like and enjoy!


If you’re looking at giving it as a gift, you can get creative and break off pieces, put them in a cake bag  and tie with some festive ribbons. You can even make your own labels if you’re feeling fun.

Otherwise, if you think it’s too delicious to gift and you want to keep it at home, I highly recommend keeping it stored in the freezer and eating it straight from the tray. The colder the better!
